Responsive Web Redesign
SAINT PATRICK’S ASSOCIATION

100% volunteer-based. 100% community driven.

The nonprofit organization behind the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Saint Paul, MN since 1967. After the parade & celebrations, the SPA donates excess profits to local charities, giving back to the community that has helped to make this St. Paddy’s Day Parade, The Greatest in the Nation.
I was tasked to assist with a website redesign, along with four other designers, in order to rebrand and promote overall growth for this organization.
BACKGROUND
Volunteers supporting the Saint Patrick’s Association can’t easily find information on how they can get involved on the website. The current website is lacking in accessibility and easy navigability, and doesn’t capture the excitement and fun that is the focal point of the organization.
PROBLEM
Design a responsive website to establish cohesive brand identity through engaging content, captivating images, and intuitive navigation. Improve the association’s online presence by providing a smooth, consistent user experience across all devices. Ultimately, add value to the SPA through repeat engagement, increased member/volunteer sign-ups, and event awareness.
GOALS
My part in the process was working collaboratively on the new responsive website design with my team, and assets from the social media, website and publicity committee. I met with our stakeholder regularly to gain insights, check brand relevancy and in order to iterate based on feedback received. I put special focus into the overall visual design and UI elements, in an effort to exceed stakeholder requests for excitability and a more dynamic user experience.
